What is the update service?
  • Allows applicants to keep their DBS certificates up to date
  • Also allows employers to check a DBS certificate online
  • It is only available for standard and enhanced checks
£13 per year - can pay by either Debit and Credit card,
No charge for a volunteer
When registering for the service:
  • The DBS must receive your application form within 28 days
  • If you have already received your DBS certificate, you have to register to the Update Service within 30 days
Once you have registered for to the update service, you are able to sign in and add and remove a certificate 
If you miss out on applying for the Update Service - applicant will need to reapply and register using the new certificate
